A solution to what you want is to use the MPRIS specification that Rhythmbox
implements as a plugin: http://www.mpris.org/2.1/spec/
You can write a script in your favorite language (Python for instance would
be easy) to receive commands from some kind of source (not sure how hard it
would be to rec
as long as it's optional. personally i've never used or liked play queues,
and if RB has one i'm not aware of, all the better.
