A solution to what you want is to use the MPRIS specification that Rhythmbox
implements as a plugin: http://www.mpris.org/2.1/spec/
You can write a script in your favorite language (Python for instance would
be easy) to receive commands from some kind of source (not sure how hard it

I don't know if it is already possible, but if it is, I see no easy way of
doing it..

Gents,
You have your hands full with developing additional features and get
bugs out of Rythmbox, but I figured I mention that it would be nice to
add folder support for playlists. Most people have lots of playlists and
running them all in the root directory of rythmbox is not great.
Best regards
as long as it's optional. personally i've never used or liked play queues,
and if RB has one i'm not aware of, all the better.

I have a little suggestion. How about adding a little "now playing" playlist
at the right? That way it would be easier to queue files to play in the next
few minutes. Thanks. This is the only feature that I need from music players

Hi, a very good program. It is my favorite one. But I would like to
share twos idea to improve it:
It would be fantastic if Rhythmbox could play video-clips in order to
have all our music together in the same date-base (mp3, flv, mp4...).
The idea would be:
We could keep the actual system of list
hello,
I think it would be pretty cool if a "return button hit" in the search
field caused the first of the found songs to play. Mostly if I use that
search field I'm searching for one song only, for a genre or artist I'd
use the selection areas.
I hope that wasn't suggested and declined before.
Hi!
I am a new ubuntu user, I found out rythmobox, and I like it very mutch!
I have a suggestion for you:
You could implement the year tab in the album section, like in the winamp
medialibrary. It is very useful when you have many albums for the same
artist.
Thank you for the great work!

Hi
It would be nice if the second window of Rithmbox, that showing albums, could
accept more entrances, as for example the year of the album, in order to show
albums in the chronological order. Otherwise Rythmbox kick ass.

As another rhythmbox user myself, I don't actually think I'd use this
myself. However, an equalizer has been requested many times on the

Hi!
I've got a suggestion or request or however you wanna call it. I'd like
to have a function to auto-switch-off my computer until the last
media-file is played.
I often go to bed (nearly every day) and I would like to listen to some
music or watch some video until I sleep - without keeping my c

Hey everyone,
How about a slight modification to this suggestion? Instead of
re-writing the string as "Artist, the" - would it be simpler to have
whatever sort function you use (if the language is english) simply
skip "the" word when sorting - but display it in normal order? In
