Let me get this straight. You installed Ubuntu to a second hard disk, but wrote the MBR (Master Boot Record) to the first. So when you boot from your first hard disk, it starts GRUB and gives you a choice of OSes. Then you "formatted" your first disk, so lost the MBR for it, and now you don't kno
