What are you using squid with email for?
Is this so you can load graphics in HTML based messages? If so Outlook
Express will use IE's proxy settings.

Well APM stands for Advanced Power Management. So I'm guessing it has
something to do with this. I notice it is running on my system and I
have apmd running as well.
But I do not seem to be able to locate were it is stored or how it is
loading! Starting / stopping apmd does not effect it.

in Galeon. Maybe give this a shot.
