Alternativaly, you can run the grub-install script and point it directly to th "/dev" reference of the hard-disk. In Example, if you want to install grub into the MBR of the "/dev/hda" disk, type te following command:
"grub-install /dev/hda"

Well, in order to use chkconfig utility to add the script to bootup, the
script must have some entries in the header (look at the others scripts

There's another way to do this. You must create a symbolic link from the

If don't, your kernel aren't compiled with ipv6 support (default for all
standart RedHat kernels at this time). Try to recompile your kernel with
this support.

Ops GRUB can't boot from "any" disk.
GRUB can "only" boot from the first 2 drives installed on the system. In

Hummm you don't need to run the xhost command in order to lock the

Try the "xscreensaver-demo -lock" command, in a x-terminal and check if
the scrren locks. If don't.. try to start the xscreensaver-demo with the

It not of this solve your problem, maybe your /boot partition have been
affected. Try to boot with a rescue-disk and list the contents of the
/boot partition.
Maybe a "grub-install /dev/hda" helps you.
If you're out of lucky and nothing of this work post again.

Just change the "ext3" flag in /etc/fstab file to "ext3" to the
respectives mount points.
Obs.: This Don't remove the journal of the partition, but turns easily
to revert to ext3 after.

I'm having difficults with the size of "/var/spool/mail/$USER" files

a file reach this limit, no more messages are delivered to the user.
The question is:

Why don't you use the "vsftp", shipped with your distro? It's more easy

commands to setup the Access Control Lists)
And what are the problems with amanda and firestarter?

Do you use Postfix, sendmail or qmail?
In postfix, use the following line in the "main.cf" file:
"mailbox_size_limit=X"
Where the XXX is the size, in "bits" of the mailbox limit.

After add the fstab entries, you must run the "quotacheck -avucg" in
order to create the apropriate files (ops.. remember to remount the
partitions before !!!). Don't try to create then by hand.
After this, is success, run the "quotaon -avug".

If you put your network(s) range(s) and your domain(s) this should work.
Don't forget to add all the names of your server in the
/etc/mail/local-host-names file.
