OK, I disabled my firewall rules, disabled portsentry, logged in to the machine and typed "ftp localhost". Response from the machine: "ftp: connect: connectin refused" I checked inetd.conf, and ftp is not commented out. I have made no changes to the default install (that I know of)... Ant tips

Pete, I've deleted wu-ftpd from my systems and am using ProFTPd instead so I can't send you my anonftp configuration, but: wu-ftpd is by default set to deny uploads from anonymous ftp users. You'll need modify the configuration file to allow for uploads. Glen On Wed, 7

I installed RH 5.0 with anonymous ftp server. The problem is now that I'd only want to give access to REAL users but when I edit ftpaccess -file deleting the anonymous from class specification I can't login as a real user anymore. I have been using the hosts.deny and hosts.allow
