How does RH store sources/specs?

How do you guys store the sources and specs to make RPMs? I'm trying to do something similar locally for emacs packages, and I'd like to keep pristine sources, but I'm not sure the best way to keep everything under version control (since I really don't want to keep gzipped tarballs in CVS). --

Hi, Since the FTP server banner doesn't have a more appropriate email address to send this to, I'll send it here since I'm sure it'll get noticed. ;-) /pub/redhat/updates/6.1/sparcv9 ...on the Red Hat ftp servers is a file that should actually be: /pub/redhat/updates/6.1/sparcv
