Compiling this program

yields

No amount of fiddling
Anyone had any luck with this combination?
When I try to install it, it's not picked up by the installer so the
installer then doesn't pick up any drives!!!
However I can install this card on an installed system at it is found.
This was done a 2.4.20 kernel with the drivers v1.18c drivers from ls
