[Redhat-devel-list] spinning down hard disk on laptop?

It sounds trivial, but this is one loud laptop hard disk! It looks like APM doesn't support spinning down the hard disk, and my rom bios on my laptop doesn't support this, when the laptop is connected to a/c power. Anyone know how to spin down a hard disk on a Dell CPi-R400? Thanks! Steve B.
