Ray & All, It is for an off-grid system with batteries in the basement along with an auto start generator where the clients are only there during the summer months. During winter months they keep the house at 45 degrees to avoid freezing pipes up here in Northern NY. Solar is severely undersized.

Bill, I've done several of these systems with Wattsun and Enphase 190 and M215. I tap 120 vac off the 240 line at the tracker control panel that I build to a 12v ps which can be supplied by Wattsun. Make sure you insert a 5 Amp ac breaker for the ps and you'll be fine. I have over a dozen trackers

Dave, My initial background comes from the Industrial Controls world w/ a strong military influence. Given that the generator probably has some kind of transfer switch, chances are that the transfer switch has a dry contact in which can be used to power a relay. I normally use ASCO transfer switch
