Hi All,
I am hoping that someone on the list can help me think this one through.
I have a client that builds tiny portable homes. He is working on one
where his client supplied the solar modules, charge controller, batteries,
inverter, etc. They bought them through some dot com. The tiny home
Hi Kris,
I think you want the "shore power" to feed into a 240V load center on the
tiny home. You might have to add this panel as part of the power inlet
equipment. I'd feed the minisplit off this 240V panel and subfeed 120V to
the AC IN on the inverter. In turn, the inverter can supply a load
That makes sense, Matt. Thanks. I was missing the easier solution.

I would install a main panel (outdoor surface mount?). The main panel is fed by
an RV cord, 240 V 50 amp. The main panel has a double pole 20 amp breaker for
the air conditioner. The main panel also has a 120V 30 amp breaker for the
inverter loop. When the tiny house is plugged into the grid, th
Hello All,
Has anyone successfully coupled Outback with a 48V Lithium battery?
We have only ever used Rolls FLA's.
While we've "successfully" installed Enphase (tedious), we prefer Outback's
VFXR series for a variety of reasons including commissioning and redundancy.
Any experience/input on the
I’ve successfully paired a few different lithium brands with both Radian and
FX.
Outback has a white paper to get you started. Here’s a PDF that points to the
different lithium brands. I’ve successfully paired other non-white listed
lithium batteries following the same guideline.

Hi Wayne
Below is a link to the OBack website.
There are several white papers at the link below.

Yes, many Radian systems with Discover AES and Helios using the Lynk II
gateway. Lynk II takes care of AGS and activating heat pads.

Hi Kris
I've successfully used a double pole double throw relay to handle this
issue with a couple of solar power trailers that I've built over the years.
You will need to bridge the inverter side of the transfer switch so that
the 120V single-phase inverter powers both the L-1 and L-2 buses of you
Also, it's unlikely in a tiny home, but double-check there are no multiwire
branch circuits. Neutral could be overloaded once L1 and L2 are the same.
There is a required label that states this in Article 710.15(C).

Lones,
I did not see any batteries that were closed loop between outback and
the battery BMS on your link. Did I missed something?

Hi Wayne,
We've done about a dozen Outback systems with SimpliPhi
batteries. SimpliPhi has integration guides with well thought out and
complete settings to program OB Inverters and CC's the play properly
with SimpliPhi batteries (24 and 48 volt). Straight-forward stuff.
