Hello Wrenches,
I am going to AC couple some Enphase inverters and found some really
nice solid state, single pole relays to control them with. Enphase
says I must use 2 pole relays for the control current even though the
disconnects will turn off all power for maintenance.
Enphase claims th

Just use two single pole SSRs. One for each leg. There are two pole SSR,
but the price is not going to be bargain basement.

You can use a one-pole relay. We show one-pole switching in our zero-export,
self-consumption doc for PEL applications.

Hi Nick,
That is very good news. I just hit the wall trying to find 2 pole
solid state N/C relays. I was trying to decide whether to go back to
mechanical or buy double the amount of single pole relays.
Thanks,
Drake

Dear Wrenches:
Here in PG&E territory we have a unique situation: In the early days of
net metering the PG&E accounts were handled regionally. In the early
2000s, this was all transferred to corporate in San Francisco. In the
process PG&E lost many files. Over the years I have had eight or s

Hello Wrenches.
We have a BI who wants to see the spec sheet for the S3 rails we have used
on one of our solar pergola structures.
Trying to contact Schletter to obtain but.does anybody have a tech data
sheet or tech reference for this rail.

Hi Dan
You can use the shunt MV reading via say fluke 87 to double check the amps that
your clamp on is reading.

When or have you ever had it recalibrated esp. if it has a few miles on it?
I was getting floating readings & I sent my 25 year old fluke in a few years
ago & definitely saw more accurate readings and the floaties went away.

Hi Nick,
I should mention that the inverters being AC coupled are M-250s, not
the new IQ series. Would that make any difference?
Thanks,
Drake

Some years ago I was talking to Outback Tech support and mentioned
major discrepancies in voltage readings from a Mate. The support lady
laughed and said that the meters on the Outback weren't accurate.

The one-pole relay will work for de-energizing any of the Enphase
