Bob,
For what it's worth, my experience has been good. I have used
maybe 30-40 on various systems over the years and serviced a few
installed by homeowners and others. I have replaced perhaps half a
dozen of the fans. But that includes ones in which rain got in, o
Gary,
I have an older IPAD dedicated to manuals. I use PDF Pro to transfer them
and catalogue them on the IPAD and I take that to every installation. I
have dozens of manuals on the IPAD, and as long as I take the time to
download them and catalogue them they are always available to me.

Here, we use a DropBox folder of manuals sorted by manufacturers that any
employee or sub here can access; if the site is so far off grid it has no
wifi or cell, they just have to download to their smartphone/tablet/etc
before the job. Clients get a link to just the manuals for their equipment

HI All,
I've got many folks who are not very tech savy, so electronic manuals are a non
option.
I support the idea, just make it easy to buy paper copies.
And really that includes me. I like a paper copy of the things I need. My

new Cannon printer came with and when I had a wireless programming question I
had to go online for the full manual.

I think I'm a bit confused on this point. I can't seem to find the code
that specifically exempts the GEC requirement for inverters of ungrounded
PV systems. The only exception I can find is only for AC PV modules (2014
NEC 690.47 (C) ).
I just looked in the installation manual for Solectria's new
Hi Dana,
This is still a confusing issue, I agree. This article helps a bit:

If you look in a SMA TL inverter installation manual, for example, they
only mention equipment grounds – there is no reference to a GEC that I can

No, and unless and until it comes up again, they won't. My drama
with them in January led to a draw: I put in a vent fan and they
tabled the issue without broader resolution and approved the final
inspection so the clients could move in.
