Paul,
We have used the S-5! clamps on standing seams in the past. We like
putting the modules directly on the seams with the S-5! clamps, no
rails. First, speak with the engineer who designed the building and
roof to make sure the roof is attached securely to the perlins and
building structure.
Wrenches,
Anyone heard of this company? It showed up in my junk email folder, but it
appears to be legit: A new manufacturer of UL 1703 monocrystalline 210W 60
cell modules, U.S.-made and located in Florida. They're probably really
hurting as a startup with lots of capital investment, offering modu
I've heard of them and they are new. I don't think they're making them
in Florida yet but they claim to be US-made. I think that on the
previous edition of their website they were planning an 800W crystalline
module(!), now they seem to have scaled back to "only" a 600W sometime
next year.

Thank you, Dave. No plans to order any, as we're not quite in the
price-focused race-to-the-bottom in New Mexico yet, and prefer to work with
established suppliers. But I am curious, and other Wrenches may have reason
to investigate them if they're for real.

I bid a 21' x 16' PV array on a 1.5:12 standing seam roof using the S-5 PV
kits. http://www.s-5.com/clamps/index_686.cfm The seams were 1-1/2" high with a
half inch folded lip on top. It seemed like a good idea to mount the modules
using the 4-point method you suggest.

I agree that the FW250 has a few shortcomings however it does work
out quite well on the AC side. My own system has a FW500 DC and a
FW250 on the AC side outputting to the existing service panel. It is
a bit crowded in the FW250 especially with the FW-SP-250 (surge
protector) however I can
Despite my vow to never install another wind generator, I have been called
to action by an old customer who needs my help. We need to replace a ten
year old Whisper (Elliot-area) 1500 watt machine 3-blade, 24 vdc battery
bank, three phase to the basement rectifier/controller. I am not at all keen

Hi All,
Thought I would update you on the inverter issue (Magnum) that was
having lots of noise on FM/AM radio.
I tried a choke, no difference.
Installed a Outback and there is no noise, the radio is perfect.
While I sure like the magnum, I'll have to wait until they make them
quieter.
