I've been happy with my Bosch 11316EVS. It is heavy enough to drive rods
and that is what it gets used for mostly.

We have a range of hammers from battery to a unit that comes on it's own
trolley. You won't have a lot of success driving ground rods with a light
weight hammer, the one we like for that is almost too heavy for one person
to lift.

I purchased one of the larger Makita roto hammers, after the bosch was just
too light to drive ground rods, the Makita has NO problem driving a ground
rod in most soils. Can't go wrong with Makita, they make the best tools.
