Sounds like a bad control board.
Swap the inverter and you should be back in business.

If it's not in search mode, then it sounds like the relay it failing.
The SW5548 has two relays, on for grid and one for gen,
Does the delay happen using Grid and the Generator?

Eric,
Ray's suggestion to check the gennie is easy - disconnect the
generator's output to the inverter (probably not necessary, but
helps to isolate symptoms) and start the generator manually at the
gennie. If it shuts down, it's the gennie.
