I am pretty sure that tempered glass with shatter as soon as you cut
into the edge. That is the nature of tempered glass.

The plastic modules are most promising. Glass has to be cut before it is
tempered. I fully expect that it will go to a bizillion pieces if even nicked
on the edge.

If you have a junk module, I'm fairly sure you can cut it up by using
a lapidary saw - the wet diamond slow-speed kind that gem and mineral
people use. I mean I'm sure you can cut it. Fairly sure it will not go
to pieces. I'm not sure there's much to be learned by looking at it,
