Small systems might get solaredge HD WAVE but l prefer Outback SkyBox,
neither have surge and if l need surge l will go SMA and AC couple a
Outback Radian when the time comes. And No l dont like AC coupling if l can
avoid it.

Like Kirk, I have installed a few StorEdge inverters successfully without
batteries. You do have to change a few of the default programming
settings, but they seem to work fine without the LG Chem pack.

Storedge 7.6kw inverter functions fine without batteries. I've had one working
for a year like this, waiting for the customer to pull the trigger on LG Chem
RESU set.

The Generac PWRcell inverter can be stand alone if the customer wants to
add a battery later.

Hi Jeff
The Sol Ark can work both ways if I understand correctly

Hey Wrenches,
I should have been more specific in my question.
I'm well aware of the advantages of true-off grid inverters and the
expansion routes of Sol-Arks or Sunny Islands as well as their price
point! Serious surge, serious battery expansion capability, stacking
etc. However that all
Sol-ark will function w/o batteries. Pretty straightforward installation with
no need for a separate charge controller.

Jeff,
I'd suggest Sol-Ark, either the 8 or 12kw unit.

Hey Esteemed colleagues.
I'm curious which GTBB inverters folks are installing when the
customer can't afford batteries right away.
