We use plywood boxes with sloped top as well, I like the sloped top not only to
help migrate the gasses but also because of the fact that a flat surface
usually collects stuff! We use soffit vents at the bottom of the box and Zephyr
vents to evacuate the enclosure but if the vent fails all there
I would think that locating a CO detector on the ceiling of the room with
the battery bank would be enough to do it. You just would not know if it was
the battery bank or CO from another source. Your (or their) nose can do that
part of the job!
