Kirpal,
The Sharp modules have a U-shaped rubber seal between the glass and
frame. It's not visible until you or your freight company breaks the
glass out of one. Since it isn't an adhesive sealant, it does allow the
frame to move independently from the glass a little. I've been
concerned that
P.S.
The power tolerance range of +10 to -5% came out of a newly
downloaded spec sheet for NU U240F2 modules. The +10 % would likely
help with micro inverters or Solar Edge. In a string inverter
installation, the -5% would trump.
I like the REC power tolerance of +2 to -0. REC has a sligh
Kirpal,
The Sharp modules that we've used haven't been much out of square,
and the glass in the frame did not noticeably move around. We have
not had to beat the modules back into shape so far. (I will bring my
rubber mallet to the next installation!) So far, I've used 224s and
235, with so
I have just started dealing with 1SolTech, manufacturing in Texas, and am
impressed with what I see so far. I am using them to replace the Sharp's I
had originally intended to use on a job in Mexico. From others on the
wrench list, it seems the warranty is void if the Sharp panels are
installed in
DrakeAs far as i know the power tolerance rating has gotten a bit better
than they used to be.I believe the floating glass inside the frame is a
long standing design but I just haven't seen any other manu's doing that so
it seems odd when carrying the module and the glass moves independent
What do you think of the quality of the new Sharp modules? The 240
F2 has a good PTC rating, but a power tolerance range of 15% (+10%
-5%). With the frame and construction issues, I wonder if the
quality of Sharp modules is slipping.
Has Sharp cut quality to keep competitive?

Hi Daryl,
The Sharp warranty over here specifically excludes

well.the glass and cells all seem to float independent of the
