I recall Magnum making a mobile version of their inverters that were a
perfect fit when I took a run at making mobile solar trailers 15 years ago
before lightweight LiPO batteries were a viable option. I built and sold
quite a few of those units and really liked the Magnum inverters'
performance. I
RIP indeed, I will greatly miss Magnum. They were my go-to for small to
modest off-grid systems in very remote areas. Their little MMS series
inverter/charger was excellent for remote, seasonal hunting/fishing camps
etc….build a small power panel with it, stretch wrap it all for the
helicopter bask

Similar to Outback, Magnum was purchased by a major corporation and its
product became less reliable. Maybe Outback will make a comeback under
its new owners. Time will tell.
Why would Sensata just shut down Magnum instead of selling it?

My company, APRS World, developed the MagWeb remote monitoring that Magnum
has been selling for years and has thousands of active users. Currently
Sensata (Magnum's owner) is continuing to pay us to host it. But should
they quit, we will continue to offer the service under our own name and
address
I just saw the news that magnum has closed its doors.
