Hi all
I have 2 old mate 1’s, pre 4.0 firmware.
I just noticed on a new FNDC paperwork, a statement from OB that states they
will update any pre 4.0 firmware to latest rev. ( as the FNDC requires 4.0 or
better. )
When I called OB and talked to tech support, they said no, they wont cover it.
HI All,
I have found out the the following that might come in handy.
If you have a DOA, OB will take the RMA then contact the supplier who sent it
to you, and have them send replacement which will be brand new. And DOA
actually is up to between 1-2 months if I understood correctly.
But all
Jay,
I just had an FM80 fail in a FP1, less than a year old.
Called 6:30 AM and waited 20-30 minutes for help. I had checked voltage
in at the FM's terminals...good, disconnected from terminals and shorted
one string of 3 PVs (low light) and got the correct amps. Display was

Last month Outback told me that they could supply a replacement FX3624
control board, but it would be $400, and to go through a distributor for a
better price. AltE Direct had one for $200, and the transplant was
successful. Also, the board was drop shipped from Bellingham, Washington,

HI Tump,
Yep that part has been true for a while.
I find most distributers don’t have them.
But I have gotten them from “thesolarbiz.com”
Also they sell brand new ones with full warranty vs refurbished ones with 90
day warranty.

This one in particular is a warranty repair. They did say that if it was
not warranty that I would be better off getting it through a distributor.
We've used Ameresco in the past.

Interesting I have an old FX 3048 w/ a bad board and was told by the tech at OB
that they no longer were supplying boards but I needed to buy them from one of
their distributors. The list. I called said they did not sell them. Humph
interested in seeing what happens here.

Jay,
I just called them about an hour ago about a FP2 system with a failed
inverter. They said they'd have the new control board sent out today,
hopefully they actually will.
Cheers,
Dave
