Yah Drake, it can be done and I have done that before - in small main
panels it involved a plastic shim under the neutral terminal block, and
nylon nut/bolt to hold it down, with the EGC connected to GEC and GE on the
main panel enclosure. With nice hard-wired small inverters available now

You can isolate the neural bar and ground the
equipment grounding system to a grounding electrode.

Hi dan
Thanks.
But the problem occurs with no wires connected to the inverter other than DC
power.
Thx

Hi all,
I thought I would provide a follow up to my mystery inverter problem
I was contacted by a few very talented senior inverter engineers and the
problem pretty much has to be in the wiring loom. Comm wires, or connector/s
etc.
I will keep you all updated as to the next part of this fiasc
Since you don't name the inverter OEM, I'm just guessing, but.the
ground to neutral bond thing can indeed fry what I call "truck top" AKA
"portable" inverters. The puzzling thing in my experience is it can take 6
months..1 month.1 week..1 second for the failure. Or it might
work fin
Just a thought, but some of the old or cheap inverters don't take nicely to
bonding the ground to neutral. You may try leaving the ground wire
disconnected from the inverter for a test and see if that changes
anything Also make sure you don't have moisture or a short of some sort
in your output
While I hope you are right. The fact that this is going on as long as it has,
I’m not to sure.
The answer to me is that since what ever it is, they can’t find, would be to
give me/customer a reconditioned unit. I’m sure they got them.
And they know that the board set in the one they are getting
Is everything feeding the inverter in good shape? Batteries healthy,
all cabling tight and clean, all connections good, all grounds in place?
You don't say what brand inverter but it sounds like whoever it is will
work with you if they've gone to those lengths already.

HI All,
I’ve got an inverter issue that nobody can fix or figure out.

just some lights, entertainment system.
no pumps, fridge etc.
System worked for 4.5 years.
About 6-8 weeks ago customer called and said inverter was of
