I never did scab, having similar concerns of not doing it right, and use
blocking.

I have never heard of this practice. I worked on a lot of roofs back in my
carpenter days!

truss, and they require blocking or scabbing on another rafter to attach to.

I like the EJOT, works well.
However check to see where the ribs are in relation to the trusses. In my
experience the rib is always right over or in the way getting to the truss.
In which case its back to blocking or similar so you can mount on the flat
sections.

Wrenches,
I will be installing system on a metal roof this summer and I am looking for
some advice. The roof is metal with 2x4 wood trusses. There is no standing
seam to attach to, so I am looking at a Ejot type attachment system. The
modules are Silicon-energy cascade series.
