Ditto Kent. And thanks Marv for submitting changes. Explaining to the AHJ that it is ok to install enphase without rooftop disc switch is much easier with clear instructions from the manufacturer. Marv: "You're absolutely right. I'll submit changes to the manual for our > next round of complian

Kent: Good points. Enphase may allow us to disconnect their DC connectors under load, but each of their connectors mates with a connector installed at the PV factory. The module makers usually say don't disconnect under load. So the inverter and the PV listings both need to allow disconnect

I only use this signage, when its true. Gridtie inverters interrupt output in milliseconds, so I don't use it on AC. My understanding is that it does apply to array disconnects, as the inverter capacitors could still have a charge, that would render the "live on both sides" idea true on DC. I al

Quick poll- how many inspectors/utilities out there require the "live on both sides" label for AC Disconnects, even after you explain to them this only applies to DC disconnects? Even though it's inaccurate, I feel that it at least gives unqualified personnel pause before they open up a switch
