Watch out for the 480 delta with the SMA inverter. Even though the product
literature says it works, it doesn't. If there's ever a ground fault (PV
system or customer facility wiring) on one of the 480 legs, the other two
legs will jump to 480V to ground (with much higher spikes along the

going to GT 30-50 KW. The SMA SB3TL-US-10 is one of the few

I do like the armored cable that was discussed, but that stuff is expensive and
the ends are quite expensive.

Aloha Marco,
Did you come up with any solutions to this problem? We may have a few here on
Oahu in development that may go this way as well.

Does not sound like you have the correct license, this is as per state of
Hawaii its all in the last line,
everything from wire connectors and boxes may need additional ratings as

Hola amigos y amigas.
We're doing our first projects here on the Big Island of Hawaii using
1000-volt rated inverters.
The AHJ is informing us that those electricians working on these circuits
require training specific to working on 600+ volt circuits.
Anyone know of such training(s)?

Hello,
Is there any specific conduit you'd recommend for 1000 volt arrays? I can't
find any reference of a voltage rating for EMT, ridged, PVC, etc. in the
code or spec sheets. Are these types OK to use? I assume its OK as long as
1000v rated wire is used. Am I correct? Thanks.
