Way to complicated. The “half wave load” is as described earlier. It is a cheap way to get a hair drier (or other heater) with a three-way switch to have air, half power and full power. The half power routes the hot side through a diode so that the heating element only get half power. Full p

I’m curious what the PW 3 surge rating is? Anyone know? And where would it be found, I can’t find it. jay > On Dec 21, 2024, at 4:03 PM, Dave Angelini Offgrid Solar via RE-wrenches > wrote: > > > > No warranty is no warranty. Would love it if Elon would go offgrid. > > The model 3 is almo

No warranty is no warranty. Would love it if Elon would go offgrid. The model 3 is almost there. I did build an xw into a powerwall with bad electronics. It is still running. Dave Angelini Offgrid Solar "we go where powerlines don't" [1]https://offgridsolar1.com/ [2] [1] e-mail offgridso.

Nomenclature! After all of this discussion it sounds like “half wave load” is being used to describe a load that is only using one of the two 120 volt legs a standard 120/240 split phase inverter provides. That being the case the AC output current rating should be looked at. For example an inver

David, Wrenches, I would not recommend that as it may be a warranty issue down the road and last l heard is it must be monitored at all times and if there is not a grid even though it's AC coupled could ba there issue. Fun times On Sat, Dec 21, 2024, 9:05 AM David Coale via RE-wrenches < re-wrenc

Hi Wrenchers, Has anyone used a PowerWall 3 as an ad-on to an existing off-grid system? Tesla says they do not support off-grid, but if the existing off-grid system is the “grid”, then this should work. David ___ List sponsored by Redwood Alliance

I can’t remember if I sent the update. We identified the load as a Japanese bidet. Once unplugged everything is working normally. So whatever people want to call the 1/2 wave. It’s what multiple OEMS call it. If I can find an oscilloscope I’ll send along what the wave form looks like. Jay
