I would also look at if the battery is listed for residential and if
homeowners insurance would accept them?
UL 1973 and UL 9540 are typical
requirements for the battery as a whole, and not just the cells in a
battery. You really want the insurance to be there in a claim. At the
minimum, inform
The old gray box XW's never really were designed for AC coupling. It
could be made to work with a xantrex grid inverter but most were told to
upgrade to the white box XW+ and XWpro.
I doubt anyone would notice the
XW+ or pro when it shifts a couple hz to protect the battery after it is
charged
Hello Fellow wrenchers. Has anyone purchased and used any batteries from
Electric Car Parts out of Utah. They have a 48 volt, 5, 7.5 and 10 KW Lipo
battery made by Energetech ( China ) . I have a customer that would like to
use the product ( low cost ) but it is tough getting any actual info from

Friends,
About seven years back I connected a dozen M215 Enphase inverters to our
battery backup system at home (Schneider XW4024 with 370AH battery bank).
The result was something that I would never want to duplicate for a
customer owing mainly to the flickering of lights during the daytime when
Allan,
I have seen batteries that have been in a warehouse environment for up to 5
or more years without issue as long as they are boosted regularly.
I know the distributor you are dealing with and they are good, "most of the
time" in taking care of them while they have them in stock. To be hon
Hi Ray
Depends on which rolls battery L-16’s
The EX version is 3400 cycles to 50%, and 2100 cycles to 80% the more standard
version is around 1800 cycles to 50% and 1000 cycles to 80%.
And the Ah specs listed on the rolls site uses the 20 hr rate.

To allans question as to if it’s a good idea to get these old batteries. If you
need them you need them.
I’d ask for 25% off and that the warranty would start from delivered date.
Not knowing which battery model His customer is specifying , but I had a client
who left his new rolls for a year
Hi Allan,
Living close to the distribution center in Reno, I’ve been in there a few times
picking up sets of Rolls and having them repaired there too. It is by far the

As far as 2v L16s go, I've not seen good things with the Trojan L16 2 v
cells. The Rolls version looks like it is one cell though, not 3 cells
paralleled internally like the infamous Trojan. The voltages sound a
bit low, can they give you SG readings? How come they haven't put those

Wrenches, Allan
You could wait but you will not know what you get untill it arrives, I
would take what you got, they need a good charge anyway and after you may
find it difficult to pick out the oldest one just from voltage.

I find these cells quite robust and I would suggest that your “supplier” ck the

If it were me, I would give my client a clear description of the
circumstances and ask them to make the decision. If they are not totally
comfortable with accepting the older batteries, then the decision is easy:
Ask for an expedited order of new batteries at no extra cost. If this is
