A knowledgeable person from Outback got back to me. The shock comes through the windings of the motor. The noise was due to the motor kicking on without the logic circuits from the inverter relays to control it (since the DC breakers were off). The motor pulls less than an amp. At 11:56 AM 2/4/20

What batteries are you using? I've had flooded lead acid batteries have several mA of current flowing to ground through the acid mist along the side of the battery. I had the battery bank supposedly isolated but got a shock and traced the connection to ground to the middle of the battery pack
