I've used Lexel before, it's the best clear caulk I've used. I used it
even to repair cracks on plastic lens on concentrating modules. It holds
its clarity for a long time, however I don't know if its approved for
asphalt shingles.

Hi Wrenches,
I have another best practices questions: what are you doing to run your PV
wire between arrays on a rooftops? This question has come up on this list
in the past but I’m still on the hunt for a robust and faster lower cost
method. We mostly install outdoor boxes on each sub array and
I like 'Through The Roof'.

It's my understanding that "carbon black" is what adds to the UV resistance
of polyethylene solar pool heating panels. I'm not a materials engineer by
any means, but perhaps there is some link.
Between Chemlink and Geocel, there is usually a color that is a close

When we used zip ties for managing wire, we were advised to buy the black ones
because the pigment made them more impervious to UV. It might work the same way
with clear vers opaque sealing polymers. Those with the most pigment held up
best.

We’ve use Geocel 2300 for years now with good results. They’ve also come out
with a new product specifically for solar:
