August,
We have three of these systems installed. Production results are good. We
experienced one failed power optimizer on the first system which was installed
two years ago. This unit failed within two months of installation. We have
found tech-support be good when we needed it. Email ale
Hot damn Brian! You are clever! Great ideas!

Jeremy,
A Grundfos SQFlex model 3 SQF-3 will run on just two 250W 60-cell modules in
series. At 600 feet of head, with 500W of PV, it will do just about 1 gpm at
noon peak.
However, if the static level is 200 ft in a 600 ft deep well, you have a lot of
water storage sitting in the well casing
Roy has an excellent suggestion...if you have constant AC power available.
In fact, if you use the Grundfos SQE models, they come with a constant-pressure
controller so you don't need a large pressure tank, and it also has dry-run
protection features.

Hi All –
It’s interesting that I got only one response from someone who has actually
used Solar Edge. Solar Edge is claiming that they have 20% of the
residential market in the US. Anyway, sooner or later we will try a system
or two with Solar Edge and I will let the list know how it goes.

I would recommend using a Grundfos SQ 120 or 240 volt AC pump on a timer.
Because you mention using a conventional pump, I assume that there's AC
power available?
The SQ line is very efficient and has no surge at start up. And it's a
lot less expensive than the
SQF line of pumps.

Static level is 200 feet
Well produces ~1 gallon per minute. 4 inch casing.
200 gallons per day requirement

I believe the first pubic commercial system just went in at Turtle Bay
Resort. REC designed and built the system) I have heard that they had alot
of problems finding equipment here rated for 1000v and ending up somehow
putting in 600v equipment that was flagged by the AHJ at final inspection.

I've used Solamotor Jack pumps for that application. Excellent product
with good support.

Darren, there is an old navy electronics man who designs climate and weather
monitoring equipment for Kansas State agronomy. Of course, he would build
all his circuits from board up and I believe there is no one more
