John,
It's hard to imagine how the bolt could work it's way out with all that
weight on it but obviously it did. I have ~40-50 DPW TPMs in the field (since
late '90s) and have not had a failure of any kind other than snow and that was
pretty easily repairable.
I just finished
Fellow Wrenches , we are really having problems getting through to Sun Power to
return their SMA private labeled inverters for warranty or repairs . Like two

Dave,
I just had my first ever failure of a DPW TPM-8 with 8 SolarWorld 260's on
it. I installed it late last fall and the customer called last week to say
that it is on the ground. It turned out that the nut on the main pivot bolt
worked its way off, the bolt then worked its way out of on
Good answer Wayne…how strong AND how far away. I'm sure the inverse-square law
apples here but if you don't know the initial power and distance, it does not
matter much anyway.
Now, for a hilarious interjection, there is a customer in our showroom at this

We get that question all the time.
We reply with the same question that we ask them with regard to hurricanes.
Well... how strong will it be?
We have not found any good supported answer on line or otherwise.

However I had a guy asking me yesterday about what would happen to the solar

Hi Karl,
On their main page they claim charging "...with little or no electrolyte
gassing." Gassing is a function of charge voltage. If you are charging deep
cycle batteries properly, you will be gassing. After reading through the
brochure, I'm not very impressed. Do yourself a favor and listen
Charge controller failure = system failure = customer sitting in the
dark off grid.
I would only use proven, UL listed equipment. Those are ridiculous
current ratings. You would need to wire that with 500 MCM cable.
If you look, you'll notice reputable brands like Midnite Solar, Outback,
