Stange but true...many of my customers are claiming the credit for their RV PV
solar system and a few have reported back: no problems. For some, the motorhome
or trailer is their primary residence but for most it is just used part time.

Can any say for sure if the cost of batteries qualifies for the fed tax credit? No one seems to have a clue.

I support what Daryl DeJoy said below. Although it's not that

Hi Jeff,
Check out Exeltech's XP series. They offer this inverter in a wide range
of power and it has a very clean output/sine wave. They have an ICX/MCX
model (not sure if it's available yet) that is also a charger.

I read your post and I am far from an expert on tax issues, but one thing
I am sure of is that the home does not have to be the primary residence.

I own several Exeltec inverters for my job trailer, RV, and truck camper,
and found them to put out a very high-quality pure sinewave even in their
smaller models down to 125 watts, when most manufacturers only provide
modified sine wave inverters in these smaller sizes. They are a litt
If you need a charger capability, look at the magnum MMS1012. Up to a 50 amp
charger and it's a sinewave, don't bother with the modifieds. Sleep mode can
go down to 5 watts I think.

For me, the only one that fills that bill is the US made Magnum MMS inverter.

If you don't want a built in TX and charger, we have had good success with the
imported Samlex SA series made by Cotek. Available in 12 or 24 volt.

Jeff;
I have experience with the MMS series from Magnum. Nice little
inverter/chargers, low standby losses, but not available in 24v.
I chose them for some remote installations because of small size and
price point. We had trouble with an earlier model that failed when a
generator ran out of gas,

Interpretations and rulings are also a big component of how tax laws are
implemented. National SEIA has an excellent tax manual written by some very
good tax attorneys that is available to members. In my experience most

Todd,
See IRC sections 25D and also 136 if there is a utility paid incentive, as any utility paid incentive may affect how 25D is applied.
You may also want to see Sections 280A(d)(1), 280A(d)(2), and 280A(f)(1) for the definitions.
