Check with your local battery guys..most will take them for free.however I
would check before just giving them away.
Almost any legit battery reseller/distributor will PAY you for used
batteries. Used and dead L16's in northern Nevada bring $40 to $60 each
just for salvage.

I suggest that you turn the electrolyte in at your nearest battery
wholesaler. They deal with similar material all the time as part of their
recycling programs.

Does anyone know of a UL Listed low temperature, over-voltage bypass
