I swap rims and hubs and spokes all the time. I don't re-use spoke nipples,
though. But I never mismatch front and rear rims (black Cliffhangers of 20"
and 27.5" on my cargo bike), just goes against my grain. I say lace the
dyno hub into the existing rim. Keep the hub and spokes, so they can be
Rene Herse will sell you Rene Herse Centerpulls with Mafac backing plates

you can get braze-ons that allow you to direct mount the Dia-Compe center

Unfortunately, the arithmetic does not always add up.

Harlequin wrapping is not for the faint of heart. I have done one at this
point, and haven't managed to do another, yet. Requires a lot of patience,
and unwrapping and re-wrapping.
Bravo!

What is the cost of buying a new basket occasionally vs basket coatings?
Zinc is a sacrificial coating and it appears to have been sacrificed. I
hate to replace things, but sometimes it is the more economical thing to
do. Just make sure to get the remaining steel Wald to the recyclers.

O
Now this is a solution! I would go ahead and get a new Wald and plasti-dip
it, as Jon said, you have gotten your money out of this one.
Bonus is that plasti-dip is available in colors! You can dip your brake
levers to match your basket and..

A suggestion - I think that you need to post a picture of the Leap without
the bags. It isn't very obvious what the frame extension looks like because
it is covered up by the bag.

Remember, a Dino 246 is just a Dino. It was not a Ferrari back then. Dinos
did not get Ferrari badging until 1976 and 246s were only produced until
1974.

Try “rear brake cable hanger” on eBay.

Another of my favorite discontinued saddles, the Brooks semi-sprung B-72,
not included with the bike for good reason.
