I've often read on Jan Heine's blog that the BQ team has "proven" that big
tires are just as fast. Where can I read these tests? I'm a subscriber to
BQ but I've only read the last two editions.

For people who have ridden one, is the roadini a fast* bike? Before I got
practical I used to ride a lot of Italian race bikes from the 1970s and
1980s. I've had a great time on old Colnagos and Olmos, but now I'd just
plain like the bars higher. That said, I think that the value proposition

The Nitto weight recommendations are absurd. I've sat on a Mark's rack and
I weight 200 pounds. Obviously I wouldn't want to ride this way, but the
rack will definitely not be harmed by a camping load.

Hi everybody,
I've heard that this is the place to come for advice about "alternative"
handlebars. Can anybody recommend a bar for long rides? My problem these
days is that I'm pulling a kid trailer and lowering my pace to ride with a
new-to-cycling spouse. These factors have reduced my pressu
Resurrecting an old thread, but I made a chance discovery that may be of
interest to the group.
One limitation of friction-shifted 10 and 11 speed bikes has been the throw
length of bar-end shifters. Some people have gotten around this problem
with judicious filing of the bar-end pods, like Ul

Some people lash their stuff directly to the rack. I use bungees to
securely attach a sleeping pad and my sleeping bag to a small rack. With a
set-up like that I'm ready for a camp-out without using any bags at all.
I've also seen people attach a full suit of raingear with a toe strap.

Hi Bill, can you expand on what you find unique about the bike?

Hi Bill, sorry if the question seems ignorant. I don't know a ton about
bike geometry.
Can't you put upright bars on any bike? Lots of bikes take 2" tires. And
what effect do the chainstays have?

Gilles Berthoud makes wide enough fenders (60mm). They are stainless steel,
which I know you weren't asking for, but the weight is within 100g of the
honjo's, they are much stronger, the hardware is better, and they cost less
than half as much. They are also perfectly flat laterally and evenly
Very interesting! Thank you Patrick for sharing your experiments with us. I
was motivated to do a bit of research about where to buy the raw fabric so
that I can make a pair of pants. If anybody else is interested, here's what
I found out.
The name Ventile refers to a fabric originally made in
