I love White Industries hubs. You get used to the sound, it also holds you back
from coasting all the time which can be a good thing. As for break levers I
would stick with the traditional shimano road brake levers that RIv stocks.

My wife has finally shown interest in a nice frame that's more comfortable than
her road bike and surly LHT. I recommended the Clem and Chevoit and she really
likes the idea of the step-thru frames.

This new Saluki is definitely going to be a kid hauler and light tourer. I
mainly use my lightning bolt for longer touring. The Saluki really completes my

I use Proteus sometimes. But I have a friend that co-owns a shop in Ellicott
City that I use most of the time. It's a drive, but worth it in my opinion. I

I have 29x2.1 smart same mounted and they have plenty of room. I would say
there's another 5mm of clearance between the tire and the chain stays.

I encountered this little obstacle on my way to College Park this afternoon and
thought it was worth sharing. Notice the other tree laying over the bridge.
Also, creeks are up and trails are covered with a lot of mud, still a great day
for a ride.

Philip, it's on part of the Northwest Branch trail heading towards Adelphi, MD.
It's my daily route to College Park. About 2 hours later when I was heading
home a crew had cleaned it all up. With the tornado warnings we had the other
night I'm sure stuff is down all over the place.

I actually ended up crawling under and then pulling the bike behind me. And
then had to play limbo while crossing the bridge. It added a little excitement
to my daily route, so I'm not complaining.
