I bought a similar mid drive kit and mounted it on a used Cheviot.
I have the kit but sold the frame and fork.
My concern was the skinny fork and the weight of the e bike kit motor
bottom bracket and battery on the down tube. It's probably was okay but
I eventually mounted it on a Surly Ogre.

No cork is mid bar. I put road bike tape under cloth tape for extra padding
then clear shellac over cloth tape and twine..

Your local bike shop should have the tool and bosses to do that. They drill
a hole and install the bosses like a pop rivet only better.

Yes. The aluminum frames back in the 90s were prone to bottle cage bosses
coming loose and rattling while riding. Very annoying.

Torque on the NITTO stem clamp/ handlebar is 14-16 Nm or
120-140 inch lb. ( per NITTO specs.)
I recommend cleaning mating surfaces with isopropyl alcohol Before
assembling and torqueing.
I've never heard a creak doing it this method.

I was surprised going from 32 cog to 36 also..there was no adjustment on
mine either. The high and low limit screws were the same but figured the B
screw might need adjusting. Love that Altus.

Gripping the bar in your circled area is uncomfortable because my bell and
shifter interfere with my right forearm.
For me the only place to grip is the flat area near the stem. And I never
grip that area .I have long stems and Its too much of a stretch for me

I measured my 60cm Cheviot the best I could from the rear fender to front
tire.
It's close to 75".
Not sure if the Platty is longer.

I use a torque wrench on critical parts like stems ,handlebars , Disc brake
rotors & seat post bolts
Snap- On. Or Mac tools have good, calibrated torque wrenches.
I found out the hard way you get what you pay for.

They have really made that a nice trail with options to the Platte River
trail and Lee Gulch trail.
