My long rides are generally commuting 25 miles one-way. In the summer I favor
cotton Gap or Old Navy shorts. In the colder weather I like Levi's commuter
jeans. Boxer briefs, NEVER boxers. Riding with boxers, or commando, in street
cloths is asking for a pinch flat of the worst variety. For

I have three bikes with SON hubs, a Brompton with 11k+ miles, a Bike Friday
and a Rivendell AHH each with a couple thousand miles. I ride with my
"lights on" day and night so cannot tell if there is material drag or not.
My SON hubs have performed flawlessly.

Ape hangers would look badass on an Atlantis and they might allow you to hang
on with your finger tips. I don't know how they would affect the elbow but
they are cheap and may be worth a try. However, if you are 5'8"ish, you should
give up, grow a long beard, get a recumbent, and donate the At
Choices. They are wonderful but come with the cost of having to decide. Lucky
for you that all the choices sound like winners.
Regarding the 55cm/700c Hilsen, I agree that they are available, Keven at Riv
offered it as an anternative to the 54cm/650b, which i choose instead. I

I love fancy bike stuff. I also do lots of dumb shit (going down stairs,
jamming my bike onto my roof rack, wheelies, etc.) The SKS chromoplastic (or
whatever) mudguards on my AHH always seem to bounce back. I'm quite certain
aluminum or steel mudguards would be completely destroyed by now.
I took ownership of an AHH in June and have average five 25 mile legs /
week; sometimes round-trip by bike, sometimes round-trip by train,
sometimes one way each. My Riv replaced a Merlin Agilis and it didn't
impact my commute time at all BUT it is much more a pleasant ride on the
Riv.

I've got a Mark's rack on my AHH, it fits great and has a tab int he front for
mounting a headlight. I have a Supernova E3 mounted on mine.

I spied my first look at a beautiful Sam Hillborne while visiting Bikeworks
NYC this afternoon. Bikeworks NYC (http://bikecult.com/works/) had a new
