A Motorola Droid X with Run GPS offers a pretty large display as well
(MyTracks is decent, too). And, it'll play music from your handlebars and
let you call home, too. :-)

And the new bricks hold 11,000 mAh. They're a little spendy, but, imo, a
pretty worthwhile investment for bike camping, randonneuring and other times
you're interested in keeping something charged without ready access to a

I can't speak to "average," but for a 3-4 day trip, I typically roll out of
the house with 50-55 lbs.
My biggest weight splurges are my coffee setup (I'm a bit of a snob in that
area). I carry a grinder, filters a filter cone, scoop and several pounds
of coffee - for my spring group tour, enough
If I put on some cork grips and shellac them Thursday night, will they be
dry enough to ride early Saturday morning? How about if the shellac'ing
were Wednesday night?

Oh, and I hosted an S24O here in NC in early June. About a dozen folks came
out, and we had 6 hammocks, 5 of them Hennessey. :-) Its a good way to go!
