This thread (and ensuing discussion) compelled me to buy the book. Interesting
stuff - thanks all.

Just finished Grant’s book. Makes a lot of since, since I’ve cut out many
carbs as of late. I did, however eat lots of fruit and found it just made me
more hungry so I cut most of that out and found it helped. The book has given
some new guidelines for me to try. It seems to me that it’s mor

I apologize in advance for these replies to be disjointed but being a new

Thanks for the B17 tip. I'll certainly give that a try. I treated it with
Obenauf's last night and it felt sort of rewarding in a strange way. Never
really cared for a bike part like that before.

Thanks for the welcomes!
I've only recently discovered the virtues of steel bikes, I've been steadily

No idea. Mine is kind of a deep green color. BQ did a test a long time ago on
this and mine looks like that. I'll have to getting around to buying that

I have a Nitto M12 already on the bike, so I wouldn't be interested in the
rack/bag combo. Although the VO bag is shorter, it is deeper and the volumes
are quite similar (at least on paper). Point taken on a used bag. With a
fairly low price point of new, I don't expect I'll find one at a pri

I've been lusting after the GB25's but come to accept that I should spend the
money updating some of the other stuff on my newly acquired Heron. As such, I
decided to take the cheaper road and see if anyone has a used VO Campagne (I'd
also be interested in the decaleur as well) that they are lo

That makes perfect sense. I just cleaned it up with the hone. I didn't take
anything off. The butted steerer tubes I'd seen previously have been Columbus
and had helical ridges so when I didn't see them I didn't give it any thought.
Thanks for the advice!

Brand new. I found it was too long for my current bike. Very light scuffing

Just ordered some TRP levers and while installing them I'm going to try cotton

So, if you use cotton tape, do you pad underneath, and i
Thanks Eric. That's pretty much what I'm leaning towards - cheap cork tape

Thanks for all your inputs. Now I'm leaning towards just cotton/shellac, but
I'll probably change my mind three times by the time I order the stuff. As
Deacon Patrick said, you just need to try something and see what you like.
Thanks again for your advice and knowledge.
