I've owned both. In my experience, the tighter and twistier the trail, the better 27.5+ is. They accelerate better than 29+ wheels. That being said, 29+ wheels do just roll over stuff better, so you're less likely to slow in the first place. For dirt roads and pavement, 29+, no question. Eric On
