Sounds like those Saris “Bones” trunk racks. I had one when I was in college in the mid-90s. It was fine for my Gary Fisher back then, but I don’t think I would trust it for any of my bikes these days :)On Jul 31, 2024, at 1:23 PM, George Schick wrote:Patrick - I used to have a rack that worked p
I'd recommend at least 20" Voile straps. metal or nylon buckle, they both
are great. The nice thing about Voile straps over woven straps or bungees
is that slight bit of stretch that they have. It's not too much (like a
bungee), but just the right amount to get a tight grip and lock into the

Why not have some fun with it? I like to have some sort of anodized
component color on all my bikes. My trouble is, that color usually turns
out to be gold no matter what... but it's fun and I think it looks cool.

My apologies. I misread your question. I assumed you were asking if you

The guy selling the Gus seems to be a really good dude. In fact, his Gus
(the one in question) is the main inspiration for mine, which he helped me
find as a NOS frameset from Golden Saddle before they closed.
It'll make a great bike for whoever ends up with it.

I am running tubeless 2.5" Teravail Ehline tires on my 54cm (medium) Gus. I
enjoy the tubeless setup because when I ride local mtb trails I typically
drop the pressure down to 20-24 lbs psi. without worry of pinching, and it
allows for a cushy ride. Then, I'll inflate them back up to 32-35 psi for
