I have a pair of Paul Racer centre-mount brakes, bought quite a few years
ago, that I finally got around to fitting to a bike. However, although the
two boxes the brakes came in are clearly marked as being one front and one
rear, both brakes have the long bolt needed for mounting on the fork.

Thanks for the reminder Leah. The film also stars Matthew Modine who I
first spotted in a movie called Vision Quest. Nothing quite like setting a
goal and pursuing it. Based on a Terry Davis novel praised by John Irving.
I'm in.

Modine is a good dude who rides. He'll reply on Twitter if you see
something he's in, I'm sure he'll be quite enthused to discuss this film.

A lovely post that I was able to use on a big bike where I did not have
much post showing...so the rough condition starting 4 inches down was no
issue on that bike. Top parts are in fine condition so you still get the
beauty of the Nitto smooth and sleek.

I’ve had that happen on a new Riv before.
This is from a Riv newsletter last year:
*Also, make sure to grease the binder bolts before you tighten them down.
They ship to us dry and they have a tendency to gall and not tighten down
enough unless they're greased up.*

@Danny -
Very good to know. I thank-you for the information. I think I will grease
mine as a precaution. I'm sure that Igor appreciates it, as well.

First, I would love to buy your Ciocc if it was a 52-54 and I didn’t
already have 5 bikes I ride and 1 to sell (1994/5 Bontrager rebuilt for
road). Second, although I don’t own a Riv, I do own a mostly original X0-1
(the precursor to all Rivs). It seems to be the best all around choice as

There is a lot of overlap in the Riv lineup. Most bikes can handle any
road, paved or gravel, even the Roadini (though I would not buy it for off
roading, it will take a 42mm tire which is plenty big for going on dirt).
The Homers, Sams are more roadie than the Appaloosa, Atlantis and Platypus
Did it once. That was enough. Verrazano was tough at end. Lots of crazies.
Right of passage for any rider. Remember, it’s a ride not a race. Bring
extra tubes. Be prepared for rain and chilly weather (My daughter and I
rode in the wet. Not fun). Ride defensively. Enjoy the sights. As a New

Pam you made riding from the airport sound so simple, I had to streetview

The tour is on my bucket list as well.

Good evening John. I'm sorry to hear about your reasons for selling and
hope all is well, but I am very interested in this lovely Hillborne. I just
wanted to double-check the size on it before I commit. The listing says
53cm but I can't seem to find Rivendell's dimensions on a 53cm: on their
