I had 48's under some mini-v's and it was super tight. That's with a Box
Components mini-v which by specs is slightly taller than the MiniMoto. I
switched to 42's to improve the room. I can't see me getting fenders under
there with the 42's. I have never personally tried the combo you are

Patrick, thanks for your question and Patch those are helpful visuals. I've
wondered how MiniMotos might interact with fenders; certainly on the close
side. With a little massaging my 50mm Berthouds might squeeze in there.
Thank you again.

I'm about to put my 60cm frame set with rainbow tube up for sale, just
haven't gotten around to taking some pics and posting. Just in case you can
go down a size as it does ride a bit on the big size. I usually ride either
a 60-62cm road frame and this definitely rides line a 62cm or 25 inch.

Thanks all for the replies; too bad, as I'm sure the MMs would brake
stronger than the Paul cantis. However, the cantis are officially "OK" (per
me) for performance, and Exceptional for looks.

Hi all, I'm trying to decide between the Chocomoose and the Nitto B353 "Bosco"
bars.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? Do you have a distinct
preference for one over the other, and why? Is one set of bars better suited
for a specific type of ride, or are they "six of one, half
I've not owned a pair of Chocomoose but I do own a pair of standard Choco
bars. For me, the inability to set the angle of the bars would be a
disadvantage of the Chocomoose. The set reach of 120mm is also more than
I'd like. I run my Choco bars 'inverted' like the Chocomoose are arranged

Having used both (and BoscoMoose): Bosco all day unless you're absolutely
positively sure the CM is going to be right for height and reach and angle.
The only thing I ended liking about ChocoMoose was they looked great.

Nice! It seems exactly like the MT-54S but maybe with a touch more height.
The MT-54S is my favorite Nitto stem.

Woo! I might just buy the FW30 for the Bombadil. I do like the smooth
fillets of the Riv version of this stem, but I'm somewhat between sizes on
the Riv stems and this has exactly what I want (the 100mm, which will be
around 90mm actual I believe). Thanks for sharing Eric!

The Riv Fillet Faceplater is WAY taller than this one. My main beef with
Riv's stem offerings is that everything has massive height. That's great
when you have small headtubes and need to get the bars up but now that they
have sloping top tubes and big headtubes I think they should offer some
While cool and useful, I think Nitto/others need to figure out a better
method for welding/brazing the threaded portions of the stem face plate.
Currently (sample size of 3 for me), each stem and set of threaded sections
are all slightly different, meaning that if for some reason the faceplate
Happy to share, Jason! Best o'luck :)

Funny that in their blog post Nitto shares two of Ron's bikes with the
Uncle Ron's Back Bars and yet this new stem wouldn't work with 'em!
