Leah's video wonderfully shows that you don't need anyone or anything
telling you, instructing you or in any way influencing you on how to ride a
bike. You just get up and go, no one can tell you how to do that and all
attempts to do so are futile as no help is required or even possible !
I think you can helpfully advise on technique and equipment; cycling isn't a
thing you are born doing. I do agree there's a limit to this approach, and I'm
especially sensitive to it on a largely male-dominated forum where it can be
too easy to slip into sexist notions of "telling the little lad
Beautiful photos. Looks great in the graffiti’ed skatepark. What bars are

I love that people are invoking the soda can shim. Fond memories of “Zen and

Mark's rack is great for a medium Wald basket. I even ran a large Wald on
mine for about a year with longer struts extended down to the upper dropout
eyelet for extra stability. I currently have the NItto basket rack but it's
twice as expensive and probably not twice as good.

Hey there group. I’m wondering if anyone has a 62 or 60( they were made in
this size in the early runs) Sam Hillborne that isn’t getting ridden much.
I’m hoping for an older model, pre- LWB. Thank you! -Mike

I'll upload photos soon, but the bike is in great condition with just a few

it rides great - I really hope I don't regret selling this one
Edit on my original post: I actually swapped the cockpit so the Albatross

Thanks!

Hey Carla! If your winter riding includes snow, knobbies, otherwise the
slick herringbone is the way to go for mixed terrain that doesn't get loose

room to go up a wee bit. If flats are an issue, you can go for endurance,

Lovely ride report. I enjoyed especially your description of the landscape. I
can almost picture those cottonwoods, mountains, and blue sky. I’m glad you

I hate friction shifting with modern cogs, ie the ones designed for index
shifting. I tried to use friction with these cogs and got nothing but ghost

Friction is best with an old Suntour six speed freewheels.
