I have only had the SON. Looks are subjective of course, but I think the SON is somewhat homely compared to my MaxiCar and Peter Weigle modified Campy Gran Sport front hubs. What is not subjective about the SON is how smooth it rides on or off, it durability, and the quality of the charge.
