Ah, yes. Ridgecrest, Fairfax-Bolinas Road, Alpine Lake. Back when I
was young and strong that loop was one of our normal rides. I chased
many now famous names up and down those roads. And I mean chased. I
was always shot off the back.

Hello,
This is my first post and I apologize if I'm breaking any rules by it being
a "for sale" post. Here's a link to a local Craigslist ad I have running
for my Simpleone. An injury and medical bills force its sale. Perhaps
someone here will be interested. Thanks --

I have a medium saddlesack. I've ridden in heavy downpours and steady rains

Agreed on the hard, slippery feel, even glove-free. I resolved the issue by
applying two light coats of shellac, then rubbed 'em down a couple of times
with a rag doused in denatured alcohol. Thinned out the shellac
appreciably, but still sealed 'em up a bit, which yielded a much better

One of my raffle indulgences was a pair of random lugs which I kept away in
a box until Christmas. We opened them up and they are so beautiful; just
stunning! My speculation was that they both were the bottom of the pair of

I'm due for a new chain and I'm thinking of switching to a 7-speed

Tom:
I think you could add some more links. Many recumbents need about 1-1/2
chains.
Regarding your cassette idea, I have a similar set-up on my Atlantis. I
use the standard Shimano 7 speed with 13-28 cogs plus a 34 tooth cog from a
9 speed cassette. The whole thing is spaced using 8 spee
The good people at RBW may have even frame-savered it for you using

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the answers.
Steve—I did consider the 13–34 and it's still a possibility, but it seems
that I'd be swapping a useful gear in the middle of the cassette for the a
spacer. If I add a large sprocket to a 13–28 then the large sprocket goes
where the spacer would be. Pl
Not looking down on them at all. I rode trails today for which a FS bike would

Don't take the lack of conversation too personally. I have Asperger's
