I still see the Platrack on the Riv site, so it looks like they might have
'em for now. Also noticed that Ben's in Milwaukee carries them too. Same
for the long struts. And thanks Brian, for the inspiration!

Manny, I was thinking the same thing. It's really nice to see.
I'm bummed about not making the book signing here in Portland this
weekend. I'm actually getting ready to order the book through RBW this
morning.
Yeah, I noticed that too. It seems like they weren't on for a while.
But they are listed as "discontinued". Also, the Platrack SlickerSack
is no longer on the site. All this makes me think that the new rack
Grant hinted at a few blug post ago will be similar.

It is my size and is fodder for the imagination but not quite sure I can

That's beautiful. Silver is definitely a strong contender... With the red

I just replaced a cheap Sachs chain on one of my Riv fixies with an
ever cheaper KMC chain that cost me, what, $4.95 at a LBS? It's a 3/32
chain. The ring and cogs are very little worn. The new chain makes a
considerable racket.
I've done heard that KMC chains are noisy: is this so?

I use KMC chains more often than not. The fancier ones labeled for 8 and 9
speed are quiet and long lasting. I have tried those cheapies and they are
noisy and don't last as long.

Thanks, Ryan -- I used this chain because it was in one of my boxes.
I'll let it wear out and keep in mind the better KMCs.
I don't mind if the cheapie wears quickly; just don't want it to do

I too have had good experiences with high-end KMC chains, mostly 10-speed.

You're welcome Allan. I'd have been happy to meet you even if we weren't

Robert, congrats on the new bike. Looking forward to seeing it built
up. I'm curious, did you try the new Bosco Bar? I've really grown to

Wait, so are drum brakes over-Pashley-ized now, too? I am so conflicted.

Hahaha. Congratulations Bob!
For everyone else, I'm laughing because one of the topics on the ride back
from points hinter, was that Bob was going to stop at Riv to look at a new
Hunq, but *hopefully* not buy one because, hey, obviously one needs a new

Five weeks later,I stumbled upon the answer my question! I was reading
the packaging the HPX 4 came in and notice that the HP setting is for
pumping and the mysterious "X" setting is for mounting. When placed in
X-mode, this pump fits PERFECTLY [underneath the topmost tube & on
pump peg] on my 2011
A friend at work might be interested. He visited Riv a few weeks back and the
62 Hunq is his size. Can you send a few pics?
Thanks

Hahaha is right.
I swear I was okay till I rode the Hunq. Sure it's lovely, but I can resist
all sorts of lovely things. I was even okay after riding the Sam. Don't get
me wrong, the Sam is a great bike. I'd love to own one. I just didn't want
to pay for one.
