With regard to puncture resistance, I highly recommend spending $4 on
a roll of one inch Gorilla tape and applying it to the inside of the
tire in the same way you'd apply the now very expensive Panaracer
Flataway. I have it on my Hetres and it's doing a fine job.

I am unfamiliar with Gorilla tape and Flataway. They're both adhesive

Thanks.

There are hotels in older buildings that cater to European tourists in
SF and are in the $100 per night range, which in my experience is
pretty cheap for lodging in a big city. Hotel Rex, Hotel Carlton, Post

Here's how I find hotels for cheap in SF--go to Priceline.com and bid
on a room. I've stayed at the Hyatt by the Embarcadero for $100 per
night (less than half the standard rate) and at several boutique
hotels for $85 (again, less than half the standard rate). When you
bid, specify that

The poster seems to want to buy a rivendell bicycle for a max of $3000.
Considering they are posting in SFbay, wouldn't it be relatively easy
to go down to rbwhq and get a new one for about that amount of money?

I suggest that RBWHQ might profitably reply to the ad. 8^}

Anyone know of a lightweight/microweight long sleeve or three quarter
sleeve loose fitting wool shirt?
I'm basically looking for more arm coverage (sun protection) but less
weight and more airflow for these hot southern summers.

I just picked up some 140 weight shirts from the IceBreaker retail

not scratchy at all. I have had some other items from them for some

And if you want an alternative-to-hotels experience, try Air B&B:

I have no firsthand experience from either side, but have met a person who
offered up her couch on a regular basis to people and she seemed happy with

I second the Icebreaker recommendation, the superlight shirts are
